Artist Statement
I paint primarily with oil on canvas using brushes. For me, painting is a very practical way to produce an image because of the immediacy of the medium. An idea can be created, changed and destroyed very quickly. A painting can be an extremely unique expression of a slice of time, or a record of an action that can never be repeated.
I draw inspiration for my work from science and nature, optical technology, pop culture, art history and photography. Experimentation and play contribute greatly to my process. I am interested in exploring and expressing visually intangible concepts in a visible way.
